Winter 2022/23
This winter semester I am teaching
Gamma-Convergence and Evolutionary Problems, Neubau 003, 16-18 Mondays.
Written lecture notes are below. I also link relevant papers.
If you have any questions or want to meet and discuss math, feel free to e-mail me.
Comments:
In G. Leoni's lecture notes we are essentially covering the details from pages 1-15. The extra pdf for the mass constraint provides an option avoiding the reduced boundary.
For references on the Ambrosio-Tortorelli functional, I would look to A. Braides' book "Approximation of Free Discontinuity Problems" (if you can't find it, email me). You can also look at the attached paper of Focardi, who proves Gamma convergence in the vectorial case.
Theorem 4.1 of Friesecke, James, and Mueller sketched in class.
Theorem 2 of Serfaty covered in class.
No class 16/1/23.
Compactness was not covered in Lecture 12, though it is in the notes.
