Hello! I am Florian Hauser. In June 2026, I started my PhD under the supervision of Dr. Christian Scharrer at the University of Bonn.

My PhD research focuses on the Willmore energy. This is a conformally invariant functional in differential geometry, defined for a surface as the integral of the square of its mean curvature. Specifically, I am interested in the existence of its minimizers and their regularity.
